Azmi Mikati lives in Beirut, Lebanon, with his wife and their three children. He serves on the Board of Trustees of International College, the school his father attended that is today an exceptional institution shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
The ambitious and hard-working Mikati has enjoyed much success in his professional life, which started when he founded his own long-distance telecommunications company while still in college. From here Mikati worked his way up to becoming the youngest ever CEO in the Middle East of a publicly listed company, aged just 33, following the merger of Investcom and MTN. Since 2006 Mikati has held the position of CEO at M1 Group, responsible for global strategy and implementation across a diverse range of investments.
Outside work Azmi Mikati enjoys many varied interests including sports, travel and international cuisine. He likes to spend quality time with his children whenever possible, pursuing whatever interests they might have. Mikati supports the Children’s Cancer Centre in Lebanon, serving as an active board member. He also sits on the Board of Visitors at Columbia Engineering, the institution where he gained his own Bachelor of Sciences in 1994.
